Pest Inspections

Before you buy a home, it is recommended that you have a termite inspection report prepared to make sure the property is not infested by termites or other timber pests.
Timber pests can travel 50 metres underground, so fencing checks are necessary in a thorough inspection. A thorough Termite inspection and report will inform you about any current infestation, previous damage, areas likely to be infested in the future, and areas where additional inspections are recommended to maintain effective physical and chemical timber pest barriers. East Coast Independent Property Inspections can arrange an fully accredited and insured third party Pest Inspector using the latest Thermal Imaging camera technology. This provides the purchaser complete peace of mind knowing you get two sets of professional eyes undertaking a thorough detailed inspection of the property at the same time.

Tony has done two building inspections for us that were very comprehensive and made us feel

comfortable buying our first home. Both times we were on the property for the inspection and were

impressed at how careful he was to ensure he had looked at everything. I would have no hesitation

recommending Tony.

Pest Inspections »
Timber pest damaged ceiling joist has been caused by the Lyctid Powderpost Beetle.

This damage was discovered in the roof space at the opposite end of the house from the man hole and was only discovered because the inspector did actually inspect the roof space.

IPI recommended the replacement of this member as its structural integrity has been significantly compromised.

Although the extent of damage is unusual only a trained eye and an experienced inspector could identify this defect.
